Alright, I know I said this wouldn’t be one of those picture-filled blogs were all used to, but this is probably the easiest way for me to get this out there and not have to write a TON of boring different posts. Below, you’ll find a picture journey of my first quarter of 2019. It was a doozie!
January- Fun-packed with duck hunting and trade shows!
Arkansas/Mississippi: This year was tough for duck hunters in the south, but we had fun nonetheless.
Stay Woke!
SHOW show/ATA– This was my first year at ATA and second tme visiting SHOT show. You don’t know know what you need until you see what’s available! Thankfully nothing was for sale.
Kristen/Benjie Engagment– my brother got ENGAGED! This is my first family member to take that step, so it was a huge deal for all of us!
February- This February saw some unprecedented events. Check it out!
Barstool Sports– This year, Atlanta was the host city for the superbowl. This was the first time I’ve ever been in a city that had a superbowl and we were lucky enough to have Barstool Sports at the Ivy the ENTIRE week! It was one for the record books.
Tuna Tuesday– This is something that TOMO, a sushi restaurant in Atlanta, does once per month, and I was invited by a good friend. It was an experience to say the least!
St. Barth’s– There aren’t really words to describe this place. It’s top notch from the people to the food, the beaches to the accommodations. A once in a lifetime trip that I hope to make a yearly trip at some point in my life!
Chef HSU– I have been following this for guy for some time and he just recently opened Lazy Betty in Atlanta. Luckily for me (I didnt have other plans. whoops), he did a surprise private dinner for Valentine’s day and I snagged a spot. It was UNREAL.
MARCH- the month of change! It was a whirlwind, but change is good!
The Restaurants- “In a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.” —Warren Buffett.
We’ve had some unexpected changes at at each store. This in turn created a ton of additional travel and work, but you have to do what you need to do. I’ve learned more this quarter about myself than any other that I can recall due to this change. You can look at these situations as negative or positive. It’s all about your perspective. I’ve met and worked with a lot of new people because of this.
Books– I have slipped some on my reading, but I would highly suggest ANY of these books to you all!
Sous Vide– living in an apartment with no grill, I’ve had to change my cooking ways. One of those is by using a SOUS VIDE. Sounds complicated, but it’s SUPER easy. Put your ingredients in the bag, seal the bag, start the sous vide. You can’t really mess it up!
George Strait– This is one of my all-time favorite artists to see live and I finally go to see him. This is a true #bucketlist activity for me and I couldn’t be happier that to spend it with good freinds and my love, Amanda!
Started a Digital Media Company. This project has been in the works for over a year now and we are finally getting the ball rolling. It’s a digtally released series called “Make it Happen” whose premise is to stop making excuses and get in the outdoors with a focus on hunting, a true passion of mine.
Started a Blog– as you can see… My first post was in February and I’m thrilled at the response I’ve gotten. I really do this for two reasons. 1-to share what I’ve read, learned, and experienced to hope that you get some value from it. 2-to help push me to be the best I can and give as much to others as possible. I firmly believe that if we put ourselves out there for the good of others, it will come back 10X. Be a positive force of change withing yourself first and see everyhting around you change.
If there’s something that you have questions about, please reach out! I’d love to listen if nothing more.
